Introduction

Hi all,

Let me also introduce myself! I'm Lotte van Burgsteden, currently working as an Assistant Professor of Language and Communication at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. In my research, I use Conversation Analysis and Discursive Psychology to investigate how tensions and conflict take place in real-life interactions in diverse settings (e.g., government-citizen meetings, medical care, parliamentary debates), as well as how to manage such tensions and conflict.

Recognizing the challenges of collecting naturally occurring data, I’m especially interested in exploring innovative, ethically responsible ways to make such data accessible and reusable.

I look forward to collaborating with you!

Best wishes,

Lotte

Introduction

Hi all,

Following Bogdana's lovely example I would hereby like to introduce myself:

My name is Maartje and I am currently working as a PhD-candidate at Radboud University in Nijmegen. My project focuses on the interactional practices surrounding the therapeutic relationship between mental healthcare professionals and clients, especially focusing on mental health care in online settings. With conversation analysis as my main research method I mostly work with naturally occurring data.

Seeing the richness of naturally occurring data, I think it would be highly valuable to see how the improvement and expanding of Open Science can contribute to making such data more available for use and reuse (in a responsible way).

I look forward to working with you in this Community of Practice!

Best,

Explanation and Introduction

Hi Everyone,

We created this group to serve as a digital space where (new) members can introduce themselves when joining the community. This way, everyone will get to know each other in-between our quarterly meetings.

To catch up, it would be nice if ‘old’ members could introduce themselves as well.

I’ll break the ice 😃

I’m Bogdana and I currently work at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I’m a qualitative researcher (conversation analyst) working with naturally occurring data.

I’ve been involved with Open Science for several years, first out of curiosity to find out more about it and then out of frustration that it is too narrowly focused on quantitative research.
